Jennifer Nicole
Lindsey
Sep 13, 1987 — May 24, 2025
Jennifer Nicole Lindsey passed away May 24, 2025. Born in Sacramento on September 13, 1987, she was 37 years old. Known as "Jenny" or "Jen", she was a lifelong Yolo County resident.
Jenny was one of the youngest children ever enrolled into the Infant Program at the Greengate School for Exceptional Children in Woodland. After completing preschool at Greengate, Jenny attended Freeman and Maxwell elementary schools in Woodland, Esparto Middle School and, in June 2005, graduated from Esparto High School. Following high school, Jenny enrolled in the True Connections program in Davis, where she delighted in weekday gatherings with friends, volunteering at local thrift stores and community outings.
Born with Down Syndrome, Jenny's diagnosis and accompanying health conditions were mere pieces of her life and never defined her. Jenny lived life fearlessly with a smile on her face and with a contagious, impish giggle. Jenny embraced her world – camping with family, watching (and meticulously organizing) her treasured movie collection, riding her bicycle around Esparto and spending summers swimming and visiting with loved ones at family barbecues. She enjoyed loom knitting, and made dozens of scarves as gifts for loved ones. Never daunted by medical challenges, Jenny always persevered – from taking gymnastics classes as a toddler to participating in baseball, track and field and bowling with Yolo County Special Olympics as an adult.
Chronic health conditions began to slow Jenny's activities over the last year, but her quirky countenance never waned. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful hugs, feigned exasperation at corny "Dad" jokes (complete with eye rolls and deep sighs of "embarrassment"), and whispered secrets of her dreams to be a movie star.
Jenny is survived by her parents, Matt and Elaine Lindsey of Esparto; and sisters, Hiedi Andersen (Ed) of Yerington, NV; Heather Rodriguez (Joseph) of Wheatland; and Karin Lawson (Maurice) of Esparto. She is also survived by nieces and nephews – Amanda, Joseph, Kaylie, Mia, Bella, Lily, Devanee, Delaynee and Maurice Jr.; grandmothers, Brenda Whitman of Reading, PA, and Patty Fales of Payette, ID; numerous aunts and uncles, including Linda Silvas of Esparto; and several cousins.
Jenny was preceded in death by grandmother, Virginia Wright; grandfathers, Edward Frey Sr. and George Allen Lindsey; and uncles, Steve Silvas, Don Lindsey and Edward Frey Jr.
A Celebration of Life is set for Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Community Hall next to the Esparto Firehouse. Those who wish to make donations in Jenny's name may do to the American Heart Association or the Yolo County Special Olympics.
